Affordable Healthcare Act

In March, 2010, a health reform law was passed called the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). The law was created to make preventative care more accessible and affordable for Americans.

Beginning October 1, 2013, a federal government website (healthcare.gov) and corresponding State of Illinois website (getcoveredillinois.gov) will be available to choose insurance plan options and fill out applications. If you are not comfortable using a computer, please ask a close friend or family member to help you through this process. Library staff are not qualified to assist you in filling out the forms.
